SFB 1381 International Symposium “Dynamic Organization of Cellular Protein Machineries”

Apr 02, 2026

We had the honor of hosting 27 world-class speakers and over 200 participants at our 2nd International Symposium, Dynamic Organization of Cellular Protein Machineries, held at the Otto-Krayer-Haus in Freiburg from March 23–25, 2026. From engaging plenary lectures to lively discussions during the poster sessions, the energy was palpable and the atmosphere truly memorable!

We extend our sincere thanks to our keynote speaker, Michael Hall, and to all invited speakers who inspired the audience: Asifa Akhtar, Sonja-Verena Albers, Morgan Beeby, Agnieszka Chacińska, Tim Clausen, Oliver Einsle, Ben Engel, Helge Ewers, Julia Fritz-Steuber, Johannes Herrmann, Thorsten Hugel, Hans-Georg Koch, Claudine Kraft, Thomas Langer, Edward Lemke, Heidi McBride, Melanie McDowell, Chris Meisinger, Torsten Ochsenreiter, Jacob Piehler, Matthias Rief, Sebastian Schuck, Katja Sträßer, Viviane Timmermann, Sharon Tooze, and Nora Vögtle.

We also express our heartfelt appreciation to all poster presenters for their excellent contributions, and we congratulate our poster prize winners – Marius Benedens, Annika Nutz, and Mirjam Odermatt – who truly stood out.

Further, a big thank you to all participants for fostering such engaging discussions, as well as to the many dedicated helpers whose efforts ensured the smooth running of the event.

We are excited about the connections established during the symposium, which we hope will lead to fruitful collaborations, and we look forward to welcoming you again at the next International Symposium in four years!
