SFB 1381 Workshop “ChatGPT and co – a workshop on using AI tools in research”

Jul 30, 2025

Artificial intelligence holds great potential for research—but how can it be used most effectively?

To explore this question, SFB 1381 organized a workshop led by Young Investigator Grantee Dr. Viviane Timmermann.

The workshop was divided into two parts:

On July 29th, participants were introduced to the topic with an overview of how AI can support various research tasks, which tools are best suited for different objectives, and how to craft effective prompts. Several SFB members attended this introductory session.

The second part, on July 30th, featured a hands-on session with a limited number of participants. Here, attendees had the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject and work on their own tasks, applying and discussing AI tools in a practical setting.

The workshop was well received, with participants leaving inspired and equipped with new strategies to integrate AI into their research more effectively.

A big thank you to Viviane!
