Collecting cryo-EM data is one thing – but how do you get to a 3D structure from there?
A recent workshop, organized by the Cryo-EM Facility and the SFB 1381, addressed exactly this question: Stefan Steimle, the technical manager of the facility and Florian Schneider (SFB 1381 project A04) explained and demonstrated the process how to get from raw data to a 3D cryo-EM map. For this, they introduced CryoSPARC, one of the most commonly used software packages for single particle analysis.
To ensure a true hands-on experience, the workshop was limited to a small group of participants. Attendees left with new inspiration and a solid foundation for analyzing their own cryo-EM data.
Thanks to Stefan and Florian for organizing and hosting the workshop!
