This online-workshop was organized by SFB 1381 PI Hans-Georg Koch as well as Yavuz Öztürk and Andreea Andrei, postdocs in the Koch Lab.

In Fall 2021, the SFB 1381 hybrid Workshop “Measuring Protein-Protein Interactions” took place. The hybrid format was a great success and has proven to be a tool with which the quality of workshops can be ensured in times of the pandemic.

On September 24th, 2021, SGBM PhD students, including PhD students from SFB 1381, met up  for their annual retreat.

SFB 1381 PhD students and Postdocs have the opportunity to take part in the seminar “Planning Your Scientific Career After the Thesis Defense” on September 22, 2021 at lunch time.

On September 24th, SGBM will host its yearly retreat for PhD students online. PhD students have the chance to share scientific knowledge and get to know one another.

In October 2021, SFB 1381 PIs host a workshop about the csBNMS approach and the viewer tool for exploring complexome profile data.

This online-workshop, taking place in October, is intended to provide you with two general assays, which are useful for the study of protein-protein interactions independent of the organism or system you are working in.

SFB1381 joint publication of Chris Meisinger (Project A6), Claudine Kraft (Project B10) and Nora Vögtle (Project B4) on the discovery of a protein kinase that regulates assembly of the human mitochondrial import machinery. Publication in Nature Communications.

The workshop is held online on 29^th  and 30^th of July 2021.

We are delighted to announce our first SFB 1381 symposium ““Dynamic organization of cellular protein machineries“, which will be held from March 9-11, 2022 in Freiburg.

Together with Pint of Science Freiburg, the CIBSS – Centre for Integrative Biological Signalling Studies invites for a workshop by Science Communicator Philipp Schrögel on reaching new audiences with your science.

SFB 1381 PI Nora Vögtle participated in the Scientific Career Symposium “The Academic Road” where she talked about both her research and her academic career. This event gave young scientists the opportunity to get to know academic career paths.

The SFB PI Sonja Albers (project A1) and the Young Investigator Grantee Sascha Yousefi (project YIG2) are presenting their work to the public in the frame of the Pint of Science Germany Festival. Attendance is free of charge.

On the 8th and 9th of March 2021 all SFB researchers met virtually for the annual retreat. Although we could not meet in person, the meeting was a great success. Thanks to all participants for their excellent contributions!

Dr. Laura Gámez-Días from the Institute of Immunodeficency, University Medical Center Freiburg, and Dr. Sascha Yousefi from the Institute of Biology, University of Freiburg are the Young Investigator Grantees of the SFB 1381.

Asifa Akhtar (Project B3) received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2021 by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for her outstanding work on the regulation of the genome.
