SFB 1381 PI Sonja-Verena Albers (Project A01) was elected as a new member of the German National Academy of Sciences – Leopoldina in May 2022.

SFB 1381 is happy to announce and host the event “Women in Science” which takes place on 29.6.2022 at 4:15 pm.

In June 2022, SFB 1381 PhD students and Postdocs are finally able to have an in-person retreat. The retreat will be taking place in Gutach-Bleibach, a small village in the Black Forest.

As a partner of Pint of Science Freiburg, we are happy to announce this year’s program. On May 9th, 10th and 11th, 2022, nine talks (in German and English) covering various topics are scheduled at Borso Bar in Freiburg.

SFB 1381 offers this online-workshop for PhD students and Postdocs who are interested in working on their skills needed for Poster Presentations. This workshop takes place in May 2022.

Congratulations to Hans-Georg Koch (Project B06), Sonja Albers (Project A01) and Matthias Boll (Project A03): their article “The missing enzymatic link in syntrophic methane formation from fatty acids” was recognized as a finalist for the 2021 Cozzarelli Prize!

Our first SFB 1381 symposium “Dynamic Organization of Cellular Protein Machineries” was held from March 9-11, 2022 in an online format.

We are happy to announce that our SFB 1381 Image Video is now available with English (and German) subtitles.

This workshop was organized by SFB 1381 PI Valérie Hilgers and takes place online in May 2022.

SFB PI Asifa Akhtar will give an online talk on “Gender Gap in the Genome & the Society” in the frame of the International Women’s week organized by Anwältinnen ohne Grenzen.

The SFB 1381 Online Symposium starts tomorrow. We are looking forward to an inspiring meeting with fantastic speakers!

This online-workshop, organized by SFB 1381, takes place in April 2022 and is open to both PhD students and postdocs.

PhD students of SFB 1381 have the opportunity to take part in a variety of soft skill workshops.

We are happy to announce the release of our SFB 1381 image video in which we want to give the public an insight into the work we do and what topics we consider especially important.

This online-workshop was organized by SFB 1381 PI Hans-Georg Koch as well as Yavuz Öztürk and Andreea Andrei, postdocs in the Koch Lab.

In Fall 2021, the SFB 1381 hybrid Workshop “Measuring Protein-Protein Interactions” took place. The hybrid format was a great success and has proven to be a tool with which the quality of workshops can be ensured in times of the pandemic.

On September 24th, 2021, SGBM PhD students, including PhD students from SFB 1381, met up  for their annual retreat.

SFB 1381 PhD students and Postdocs have the opportunity to take part in the seminar “Planning Your Scientific Career After the Thesis Defense” on September 22, 2021 at lunch time.
